Kornati Islands

Rocky pearls of the Mediterranean

A labirinth of 89 islands, islets and cliffs formed in Nature's play with sea and rock. Kornati islands are and island group with the most indented coastline in the Mediterranean and in 1980 were declared a national park. Kornati are abundant in cultural and natural particularities. Steep cliffs, geological formations known as the Crowns of Kornati face the open sea and are this park's most popular phenomenon. Through histroy, pirates visited these coves and made them their safe ports, while the locals, back in 1560 built a fisherman's settlement out of which today, only the church remains, restored and in use. Kornati are like a neverending story. While the sea plays its tune and the coasts immersed in azure and sunshine listen to it, you can vibe along and make your own story.
